Getting paid to make AI sound human

A glimpse of the future of work, as AI takes shape.

“Mostly, it was just about cleaning things up and making the writing sound less awkward, cutting out weirdly formal or over-enthusiastic language. […] The real problem was it was just so repetitive and boring. It started to feel like I was the robot.”

from the BBC article: “AI took their jobs. Now they get paid to make it sound human”

It makes me wonder: “wasn’t AI supposed to solve the world’s problems?”

Instead, its development is happening exactly in the areas that make us feel human: creativity.

And even though there are companies out there, such as Leica, and even Adobe, who have been pushing this open source feature callend “Content Credentials” (a way to bring more transparency to media), it’s still depressing as fuck.
