The Designer’s Health Protocol

Athletes warm up their muscles before the game. During/after the game, they have recovery routines to help them stay in the game longer—not this game, but all the games they’ll ever play in their lifetime.

It’s the same for professional musicians. Vocalists will avoid cold drinks, and do several vocal exercises before a show, and take care of their throats after, especially when they’re on tour.

As designers—, developers, and other desk jobs—who sit on desks all day, we are at the risk of developing several issues on our bodies: tendinitis, hernias, astigmatism, etc. In order to live a longer life, pain-free, with an enjoyable career, we should also have pre-work, breaks, and post-work routines.

This is an attempt to improve my own life, and, in turn, the life of my peers.
